COVIF-19 and the Hospitality Industry

  1. SITE CEO Didier Scaillet says “during this time, our industry needs connections now more than ever and while many of our members are unemployed or underemployed, now is the time for members to invest in themselves. To that end, SITE is offering all online education modules—including the CITP prep course– free of charge.” Watch Didier’s message here.

2. The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) has created Hospitality for Hope, an initiative to boost collaboration between the hotel industry and local, state and federal governments to help employees and communities across the country by connecting hotel properties with the health community looking housing and support. Read the release here.

3. Caesars Entertainment has already donated more than 250,000 pounds of food to local food banks and charities and thousands of personal protection supplies (PPEs) across the United States. Read the release here.

4. Furloughed Hilton employees in the U.S. will be given direct access to an online resource centre and expedited hiring processes at leading companies including Amazon, CVS pharmacies, Lidl and Albertsons’ grocery store, Plastics Industry Association and Sunrise Senior Living. These companies are planning to hire more than 200,000 workers collectively for short-term assignments. Read the story here.
